Martin Swinger: Bio and Skills

Martin Swinger - Singer/Songwriter/Educator third person.

Martin Swinger has been singing and writing songs since elementary school and has performed music and theatre professionally for 40 years. He has national songwriting and performance awards to his credit and is a well known and much loved personality and family entertainer in schools, campgrounds and festivals and appears on cable television throughout Maine. He tours across New England, to Kentucky, Georgia and Texas, but enjoys calling Maine his home, except in January when it's too darn cold to enjoy.

Martin teaches songwriting to K-6 students in classrooms, at afterschool programs, libraries, festivals, summer camps, family gatherings - anywhere children might gather.

He teaches continuing education workshops for teachers and children's event leaders on how to incorporate songwriting activities into the programs they offer and teaches singing games to (non musically minded) child care providers interested in incorporating more singing into their day-to-day activities. He offers these Continuing Education Trainings through schools, libraries, arts and education literacy training events and always receives high praise in feedback.

He leads an excellent Sing-Around-The-Campfire (MANY years experience!) and offers family entertainment at local and national festivals. In his spare time he writes and performs songs for grown-ups AND sings with and leads improvisational singing with a three member ensemble, Flash-Tonic !
